One advantage of Intuit's accounting software is the large quantity of add on programs which are available for the QuickBooks Desktop product line.
As of 5/6/2015 we found 63 add on programs available for QuickBooks Online and 249 available for QuickBooks Professional Desktop. As you can see there are more add on programs available for QB Desktop, although that is expected to change over time.
